The Denver Broncos defense couldn’t get a stop their first time on the field this season.
Geno Smith took advantage of broken coverage, hitting Will Dissly for a 38-yard touchdown on Seattle’s opening drive. The Broncos had them at third, and two at midfield, but Smith capped the drive when backup linebacker Alex Singleton whiffed on his blitz.

Smith showed athleticism by stepping up in the pocket and made a nice throw to finish his first stint at 4-for-4 with 71 yards through the air.
The fans were chanting, “Geno, Geno, Geno,” during the extra point try. The Seahawks lead 7-3, as the Broncos responded with a field goal on Russell Wilson’s first offensive touch.
