It’s gotten worse for CU, CSU as ESPN ranks them dead last in America

This is rock bottom.
Seriously, there’s nowhere to go but up.
Last week, we told you about ESPN ranking the Buffs and the Rams as two of the four worst college football teams in the country.
CU was No. 4 in the “Bottom 10” rankings while CSU checked in at No. 3. Well, after a couple more ugly losses this past weekend, things have gotten worse. Colorado State is now the worst college football team in America. The University of Colorado is No. 2. Both teams sit at 0-4, with CSU getting smacked by FCS Sacramento State by a score of 41-10 and CU losing to UCLA, 45-17.
Karl Dorrell still has a job in Boulder, for now. Jay Norvell has a full rebuild on his hands that is in a far worse spot than anyone imagined a month ago.
On the Rams, here’s what ESPN’s Ryan McGee wrote: “The Rams extended their FBS-worst losing streak to 10 games after a 41-10 loss at home to Sacramento State. For the FCS Hornets of the Big Sky Conference, it marked just their second win over an FBS program in 25 tries, though sources tell the Bottom 10 JortsCenter news desk that a petition has been filed to have that “win over an FBS program” distinction removed because, hey, does Colorado State really qualify?”
Ouch. That’s borderline insulting to the Rams, but apparently anything is inbounds at this point.
On CU, McGee goes in even harder: “Meanwhile, the Buffs also Ralphie-d up their fourth loss of the year, spurring state officials to explore putting together a last-minute edition of the Rocky Mountain Showdown, which is not being played this season. However, instead of holding the contest inside Empower Field, home of the Denver Broncos, it would be played next door in the parking lot where Mile High Stadium used to be.”
It actually is a shame there’s no Rocky Mountain Showdown this year. At least someone would get a win, because college football games can’t end in a tie. Although if anyone was going to pull it off, it’d be these two programs.
It’s unlikely either earns a victory in 2022. And without one, these “Bottom 10” rankings will likely hold for the rest of the year.
