DMac and Chad kicked off the show reacting to the news of the Bengals releasing Andy Dalton. Should the Broncos bring in Dalton to be the backup quarterback for Drew Lock? The guys then break down how and when the Chiefs will give Patrick Mahomes his big contract extension after picking up his 5th year option today. In the water cooler, DMac explained why he thinks college football should start in January. The fellas closed out the hour giving their thoughts on John Elway giving two different answers on if Jerry Jeudy made it to them in their mock drafts.
In Football at Four, DMac asked Chad if he thinks if it could be a realistic scenario that Aaron Rodgers ends up with the Broncos. What kind of year would Drew Lock need to have for the Broncos to not move on from him? Chad broke down what he thinks of Justin Strnad. What NFL played is he getting compared to? The guys then jumped back into Pat’s Playbook where Case Keenum had a great game in the air and the offense looked great. James Merilatt of 1043TheFan.com joined the show and explained why doesn’t want the Broncos to target Andy Dalton. James also said that he would rather have Drew Lock develop than make the playoffs. Chad explained why he doesn’t think that Vic Fangio would pull Lock for Dalton just because he’s a veteran QB. Our Broncos insider Nicki Jhabvala joined the show to discuss if she’s hearing about anything about the Broncos signing Andy Dalton as a backup QB for Drew Lock. Nicki also gave an update on the Broncos’ salary cap situation that includes this draft class and Justin Simmons’ possible contract.
In the 3rd hour, DMac kills it with truth on why the Broncos should not pick up the 5th year option for Garett Bolles. The fellas then heard from Matt Russell on why the Broncos were all in on drafting K.J. Hamler. Why did the Broncos pass on other positions just for Hamler?
In the top six, DMac asked Chad if the Broncos should sign Andy Dalton to be the backup for Drew Lock. Should the Broncos go after Prince Amukamara?
