Nolan Arenado’s name keeps surfacing in trade rumors

The offseason has been a quiet one for the Rockies so far. The biggest move the team has made during the Hot Stove League is re-signing relief pitcher Scott Oberg, which received lukewarm reviews, at best.
But that doesn’t mean all is quiet on 20th and Blake. On Thursday, the rumblings about Nolan Arenado being available via trade started again. This time, the All-Star third baseman was being connected to the Texas Rangers.

At some point, it’s impossible not to believe there’s something to all of this talk. Eventually, where there is smoke there is fire. One of the most-prominent baseball writers in the country certainly seems to think so.

What does it all mean? Perhaps nothing. It could just be conversation to keep things interesting in December.
But it would probably be wise for Rockies fans to at least prepare themselves for the possibility of Arenado playing elsewhere. It’s starting to feel like it’s probably, likely or even inevitable.
