Broncos Injury Report: Getting healthier heading into Week 6

Oct 11, 2019, 6:51 AM

Looking to build upon their first win of the season, the Broncos head into their Week 6 matchup with the Titans as healthy as they’ve been in quite some time. Other than Bryce Callahan and Bradley Chubb, there’s a chance that every other player on the active roster will be healthy enough to go on Sunday against Tennessee.

Here’s who was listed on the Broncos official injury report as of Thursday, October 10:

***

FULL PARTICIPATION

Justin Hollins (LB)
Injury – Knee
Note – After leaving the game against the Chargers, the rookie was limited earlier in the week; he appears ready to go at this point, however

Kareem Jackson (DB)
Injury – Hamstring
Note – Still hobbled by a hamstring, Jackson is expected to play on Sunday, bringing the same run-stopping swagger to the defense that he did against the Chargers

Josey Jewell (ILB)
Injury – Hamstring
Note – After missing parts of two games, as well as the entire victory in Los Angeles, the middle linebacker looks to be ready to go against the Titans

Ron Leary (RG)
Injury – Not Injury Related
Note – The veteran offensive lineman continues to get a “vet day” here and there, as the Broncos try to keep him healthy deep into the season

Mike Purcell (NT)
Injury – Knee
Note – His insertion into the middle of Denver’s defense made a big impact against the Chargers, so it’s vital that he bounces back from what looks like a minor knee injury

Emmanuel Sanders (WR)
Injury – Knee
Note – A week after being hobbled by a quad injury, the wide receiver is now nursing a knee problem, which the Broncos are being careful with at this point

Courtland Sutton (WR)
Injury – Lower leg
Note – Denver can ill afford to have their star in the making on the sidelines, as Sutton has emerged as one of Joe Flacco’s top targets this season

***

LIMITED PARTICIPATION

Duke Dawson (CB)
Injury – Foot
Note – Earlier in the week, the backup cornerback wasn’t on the injury list, so this is a practice-related setback that makes Denver even thinner in the defensive backfield

Ja’Wuan James (RT)
Injury – Knee
Note – The high-priced right tackle appears on the brink of getting back on the field for the first time since the regular-season opener

Trey Marshall (S)
Injury – Lower leg
Note – The backup safety and special teams contributor is hobbled by an undisclosed injury, making his status for the Tennessee game up in the air

***

DID NOT PRACTICE

Bryce Callahan (CB)
Injury – Foot
Note – The cornerback will be sidelined a few more weeks due to a foot injury that dates back to last season and was re-aggravated during training camp
