The Von Miller “Celebrity Tour” shows no signs of slowing down

Apr 30, 2019, 11:38 AM | Updated: 11:44 am

Apparently, back-to-back losing seasons haven’t dimmed Von Miller’s star power. While the rest of his teammates have been relegated to less-than-primetime status – see the Broncos 2019 schedule, which features zero appearances on “Sunday Night Football” – the Super Bowl 50 MVP remains a hot commodity, more than three years after he helps the Broncos win their third Lombardi Trophy.

It was announced on Tuesday that Miller will be a part of NBC Sports’ 2019 Kentucky Derby coverage, with the linebacker filling the role of a lifestyle correspondent during the broadcast. According to the network, “Miller will document the sights, sounds and pageantry on Derby Day. He will also join NBC News weather anchor and correspondent Dylan Dreyer for several segments to showcase the electric atmosphere in Louisville and highlight this year’s biggest Derby trends.”

Miller sounds excited about his latest off-field gig.

“As a fan of the Kentucky Derby, I am thrilled to be a part of NBC Sports’ coverage of this historic sporting event,” Miller said in a statement released by NBC Sports. “I look forward to showcasing the excitement, fashion and enthusiasm at Churchill Downs.”

This isn’t the first time Miller has parlayed the stardom that came from winning MVP honors in Denver’s 24-10 victory over Carolina into a marquee assignment. The face of the Broncos has been very visible since that fateful day.

“Dancing with the Stars”

Three years ago, Miller competed during the 22nd season of ABC’s hit show. He and dance partner Witney Carson finished in eighth place.

“Studio 58”

Miller starred in a Facebook Watch reality show that offered viewers “an all-access, slightly fantastical, comedic trip through the life of an NFL superstar.” The latest episode posted in April 2018.

“Celebrity Family Feud”

On July 3, 2016, Miller joined a cast of other celebrities trying to answer the top five answers on the board to questions posed by host Steve Harvey.

ESPN The Magazine’s “Body Issue”

Days later, Miller bared all alongside other athletes in the publication’s eighth edition of their answer to Sports Illustrated’s annual swimsuit issue.

Wanna see Miller’s latest star turn? Tune into NBC on Saturday, May 4 at 12:30 p.m. for coverage of the 145th Kentucky Derby.
