This annual memorial golf tournament was created to honor the life and legacy of Van, who passed away from heart failure in September 2022. Born in Nebraska in December 1963, Van grew up a proud Cornhuskers fan and was deeply moved by the story of Jack Hoffman, whose battle with childhood brain cancer inspired countless people. To keep Van’s spirit of compassion and community alive, friends, family, and supporters come together each year to celebrate what mattered most to him—supporting others and making a meaningful difference. Since the tournament’s inception, we have proudly partnered with the Team Jack Foundation, contributing more than $12,000 to advance their mission of funding impactful childhood brain cancer research. The event is also recognized on the Team Jack Foundation’s website, underscoring our shared commitment to honoring both Van and Jack through purpose-driven action.
