Broncos injury update: Randy Gregory misses a third consecutive day of practice

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. –– After not practicing at all this week, edge rusher Randy Gregory is questionable heading into Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams.
Denver held out Gregory due to “soreness” in the knee following his return to action last Sunday. Adding to that choice was the fact that the Broncos practiced twice on an artificial surface inside the Pat Bowlen Fieldhouse due to the record-cold conditions this week.
Sunday’s game will take place on an artificial surface. Broncos coach Nathaniel Hackett said Gregory would be a “more of a game-time decision.”
“We’re just going to play it safe,” Hackett said. “We want to sure that we take care of him. He’s been sore after the game. It had been a while since he had played. So, he’s done a great job in the meetings, done a great job getting his knee right and his mind right. We’re excited, and we hope he’s going to be able to get out there.”
Added Hackett a moment later, “If he’s ready to go, we’ll play him.”

ALSO QUESTIONABLE FOR THE GAME:
- OT Calvin Anderson (ankle)
- RB Latavius Murray (foot)
- LG Dalton Risner (foot)
- WR Courtland Sutton (hamstring)
- CB K’Waun Williams (wrist/knee)
Murray, Risner, Sutton and Williams all practiced Friday. Anderson was added to the injury report Friday and was seen in the locker room wearing a walking boot.
The only player ruled out for Sunday is WR Kendall Hinton. A hamstring injury will sideline him for the second consecutive week.

EDMONDS COULD RETURN SUNDAY
RB Chase Edmonds practiced for a third consecutive day. The Broncos designated him for return from injured reserve Wednesday after he sat out due to a high-ankle sprain suffered last month.
“He did a really good job,” Hackett said. “He’s still got some things he’s working through, because it’s been a while since he’s played football, but hoping to see him out there, also.”
Edmonds would be the final Bronco activated from injured reserve this season. Teams can activate up to eight players from IR. Denver used its previous activations on TE Greg Dulcich, S Justin Simmons, CB Michael Ojemudia, LS Jacob Bobenmoyer, RB Mike Boone, Gregory and OT Billy Turner.

DENVER WON’T SEE DONALD
Los Angeles ruled out the nine-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle as he continues to struggle with a high-ankle sprain. Donald has not played since Week 12.
