This baseball was launched.

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich just hit the second-longest home run of the statcast era at Coors Field. The homer was measured at an astonishing 499 feet. It sailed way over the bullpens and into the third deck, nearly hitting the rooftop bar area.

That’s not a good way to start the game for Rockies’ pitcher Chad Kuhl, as the small crowd at 20th and Blake was treated to a show by the very first batter of the game. Here’s where Yelich’s blast ranks all-time at Coors Field.

In a season to forget for the Rockies, this is another low moment. But it’s still cool to see a baseball travel that far. It’s an area of Coors Field usually only reachable in batting practice.
