The Broncos chances of making the playoffs are better than people think

After losing to the Bengals on Sunday, the dream of making the postseason seemed dead for the Broncos. At 7-7, they currently sit in 13th place in the AFC, looking up at a lot of other teams in better position to capture one of the conference’s seven playoff spots.
Right now, that feeling is justified. Currently, the Broncos have an 8% chance of making the postseason. That’s not good.
But according to a New York Times simulation, that’s only temporarily bad news. If the Broncos can string together some wins, they can vastly improve their chances.
If Denver wins on Sunday in Las Vegas, things look a little better.
If they follow that up with a win over the Chargers, things improve even more.
And if they can win out, which would mean ending their 12-game losing streak to the Chiefs with a home win in the season finale, the Broncos are almost assured of a spot in the playoffs.
So the question isn’t whether or not the Broncos can make the playoffs. They can.
The question is whether or not they can win out. That’s the message Vic Fangio needs to be selling his team.
