Coors Field capacity to increase to 35,000 on June 1

May 14, 2021, 3:55 PM

Coming soon, thousands more fans will have the chance to root on the Colorado Rockies in person, as Coors Field has been approved to increase capacity to 35,000 (70 percent) starting June 1, the team announced Friday.

With the approval from the Denver Department of Public Health and Environment, the Rockies will be able to host almost 14,000 more fans at 20th and Blake this summer.

“This announcement is a great way to kick off the summer and welcome even more fans back to LoDo and Coors Field,” said Rockies president Greg Feasel in a release.

“We want to again thank the City and County of Denver, their health officials, along with MLB for partnering with us to get to this point, as we continue to ensure that we provide a safe and enjoyable environment for our fans.”

The news comes just two days after Ball Arena was approved to increase capacity to 42.3 percent (7,750) — up from 22.1 percent (4,050) — for the upcoming playoff runs for the Colorado Avalanche and Denver Nuggets.

Coors Field will remain under the current variance of 42.6 percent capacity through Sunday, which mandates wearing a mask while inside the facility.

The Rockies will begin selling tickets to home games for June 1-20 on May 17, and information can be found at Rockies.com/tickets.
