What Jerry Jeudy meant with his tweet Thursday afternoon remains a mystery.

But if the Denver Broncos wide receiver is angling for a new number — specifically No. 4, which he wore at Alabama — here’s a little franchise history:
•••
No. 10:
In the history of the Broncos, 11 players (including Jeudy) have donned the No. 10, including a pair of punters, a trio of quarterbacks and five wide receivers.
•••
Emmanuel Sanders:
The fan favorite ex-Broncos wideout was the last Denver player to wear No. 10, which he did from 2014 to 2019, when he was traded to the San Francisco 49ers.
During his time in the number (and in Denver), Sanders had arguably his best seasons, with Pro Bowl elections in 2014 and 2016.
•••
No. 4:
Just seven players in Broncos history have worn the No. 4, including four punters, two quarterbacks and one wide receiver — Bob Thompson, who played in two games for the orange and blue in 1987.
•••
Brett Rypien:
Currently, No. 4 on the Broncos roster belongs to Brett Rypien. The nephew of former Washington quarterback Mark Rypien, Brett has played in three games for Denver, winning his only start in 2020.
