Nalen calls NC State’s Bradbury his ‘guy’ for Broncos, but not at No. 10

With the departure of Matt Paradis in free agency to the Carolina Panthers, among the Denver Broncos needs in the upcoming NFL Draft is a center.

A possible replacement for Paradis could be a prospect whom WalterFootball.com says most closely compares to the Broncos former offensive line anchor: NC State’s Garrett Bradbury.

On Monday, “The Drive” co-host Tom Nalen called Bradbury his “guy,” but acknowledged that at Denver’s current first-round slot at No. 10, it would be “ridiculous” to grab the center there.

Instead, Nalen advocated for either trading up and grabbing a top-five stud or trading back to the late teens, where Bradbury may fall.

Nalen’s co-host, DMac, championed the same plan.

“If you really want to do something for the Denver Broncos, for the long-term, for Joe Flacco … if you really wanted to do it, you would move back, do anything you can to move back, and pick up Bradbury,” DMac said, “and then do everything you can to move up to get (Dalton) Risner.”

Risner — a Kansas State offensive lineman and Wiggins, Colorado, native — has been pegged as a mid-to-late first round pick, much like Bradbury.

“That would be perfect,” Nalen said, especially with that move both would be available for a fifth-year option as first-round picks.

“It’s important to get a guy in the first round like that because you do have that extra year,” Nalen said.
