Clough: Broncos o-line not much better if club can’t re-sign Paradis

Mar 12, 2019, 8:00 AM

The Denver Broncos made a significant move to improve its offensive line late Monday evening, agreeing on a four-year, $51 million deal with former Miami Dolphins right tackle Ja’Wuan James.

However, if Denver fails to retain center Matt Paradis, 104.3 The Fan host Sandy Clough said the Broncos offensive line won’t look much improved compared to the past five seasons.

“Just getting a competent tackle on the right side is worth almost as much as a premier left tackle. But if they don’t bring Paradis back, I just don’t see this offensive line being that much better than it’s been the past five years,” Clough said Monday night.

The good news for Broncos Country, however, is that Denver and Paradis’ camp have restarted talks, per 9News’ Mike Klis.

Paradis, whom the Broncos let test the free agency waters, was linked to the New York Jets and Buffalo Bills much of Monday, though the latter signed former Kansas City Chiefs center Mitch Morse.

Denver also rekindled conversations with offensive lineman Billy Turner on Monday, Klis reports, though with the signing of James his status is unclear.
