DMac: Broncos will dismiss Joseph at some point, pursue Harbaugh

Nov 15, 2018, 7:26 PM

The plan at head coach for the Denver Broncos likely will no longer involve Vance Joseph after the 2018 season, “The Drive” co-host DMac said on Thursday.

Whether it’s all Joseph’s fault or not, DMac said, the Broncos will dismiss the coach at the end of the season.

“I think V.J. will be dismissed at some point,” DMac said. “I think he’s handling the situation remarkably well, all things considered. But I think Elway will make the turn that the fans ultimately want him to make.”

The plan, then, would be to pursue Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh should he part ways with the team after the season as well, as has been reported.

“Plan A, whether it’s going to happen or not, would be to get John Harbaugh and then pick your quarterback, whoever it is,” DMac said.

But the flaw in that plan, said DMac’s co-host Alfred “Big Al” Williams, is that a job could open in Green Bay, wherein the head coach would be paired with future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

“If there’s a job that’s open in Green Bay, Wisconsin, that has Aaron Rodgers locked up and just signed that new contract, we’re not getting Harbaugh,” Williams said.

Williams did agree, however, that Denver’s likely to move on from Joseph if things do not improve quickly.

“If they can’t find a way to win … Unfortunately, V.J. is tied to his quarterbacks. And if the quarterbacks don’t do well, the head coach is going to be fired,” Williams said.
