Stokley ‘expecting’ Broncos best football game of 2018 vs. Chargers

Nov 14, 2018, 3:25 PM

Coming off the bye, the Denver Broncos are finally getting healthy, with wide receiver DaeSean Hamilton, running back Royce Freeman, and cornerback Bradley Roby all limited in practice Wednesday.

With a slew of players getting back healthy, “Stokley and Zach” co-host Brandon Stokley said on Wednesday he’s “expecting to see” the Broncos best football game of the year against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.

“The bye week has done what you hoped it would do for your football team. It’s gotten you healthier,” Stokley said. “It wasn’t early in the football season. Now you’ve got seven games left, and you’re ready to rock and roll.

“You’re a healthy football team right now, and you should be rested.”

Stokley said there’s “no excuse not to see anything but really good football play” from the Broncos against the Chargers in Los Angeles, and he’d be “really disappointed” if he doesn’t.

“Everything is lining up for them to play their best football game of the year,” Stokley said. “I mean, I don’t expect them to go out there and blow the Chargers out like they blew the Cardinals out, but I expect them to go out there and play a hard-fought football game, execute at a high level, and do all the little things it takes to win a football game.

“That’s what I expect to see this weekend. That’s what they should do coming off of this bye.”

The comments echo those of “The Drive” co-host Alfred “Big Al” Williams from Tuesday.

“This is a game that has win written all over it,” Williams said.
