Schlereth, Lammey grade Keenum poorly through Broncos first half

Denver Broncos quarterback Case Keenum said on Wednesday that he grades himself only on the team’s record.
However, both Mark Schlereth and Cecil Lammey gave the Broncos gunslinger a ‘D’ for his 3-5 results through the first half of Denver’s season.
“Sitting here at 3-5, Case Keenum you’re a ‘D’ student,” Lammey, the co-host of “Pritchard and Cecil,” said. “And what happens with ‘D’ students? They get held back.”
Schlereth, the co-host of “Schlereth and Evans,” said he hasn’t seen the requisite leadership and believability that Broncos Country was sold on regarding Keenum.
“From that leadership and believability standpoint — I believe that what we were sold, this whole believability standpoint — I’m going to give him a ‘D’ on that aspect of the grade because it just hasn’t happened,” Schlereth said.
The statistics Keenum has produced thus far through the season, Schlereth said, have come in non-critical moments.
“When you look at where he’s put most of his statistics up, it’s when they’ve been down and out. … All the critical, all the big-time statistics have been kind of put together in garbage time,” Schlereth said.
But Keenum still has time to turn things around, Lammey said, if he can “cram.”
“… If the Denver Broncos win this week, Case is changing his destiny, changing his fortunes and the fortunes of the Denver Broncos and Vance Joseph, and all of this that’s been swirling around can be saved and can be salvaged,” Lammey said.
