Analysis: 104.3 The Fan reacts to the Broncos 34-16 loss to the Jets

For the third week in a row, the Denver Broncos come away empty-handed, losing Sunday on the road 34-10 to the New York Jets.

Here’s how the 104.3 The Fan staff sees the loss:

Cecil Lammey (“Pritchard and Cecil”):

Something has to change. A rookie quarterback and a New York Jets rushing attack that had struggled this year embarrassed the Broncos today.

Sam Darnold had four passing touchdowns total four weeks into his pro career. He almost doubled that number with three touchdown passes against Denver.

After having four carries for zero yards in Week 4 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Isaiah Crowell gashed the Denver defense for a Jets record 219 yards.

This goes beyond the poor play of cornerback Bradley Roby or the poor tackling of the Broncos defense. We should see Denver move on from defensive coordinator Joe Woods. There are too many communication breakdowns and too many big plays surrendered by this Broncos defense.

Woods may be the first coach to be fired, and if this team doesn’t show more competitiveness then head coach Vance Joseph could be on his way out of town, too.

Mike Pritchard (“Pritchard and Cecil”):

After a disappointing loss to the New York Jets, the Denver Broncos organization needs to explain to Broncos Country that they are on the right track.

The team looks old, slow, and uninterested, and at this point I’m not sure when they will win another game.

DMac (“The Drive”):

Abysmal. Top to bottom. A total embarrassment performance by the Denver Broncos. Heads should roll. Start with Joe Woods and put Vance Joseph on notice.

We saw a team give up, and that simply isn’t acceptable. We have come to grips that Case Keenum is mediocre, but what we didn’t expect was for the defense to lay down.

This is a low moment that is going to be difficult to dig out of against the Los Angeles Rams.

The lack of foresight to draft a quarterback at No. 5 has officially hit its zenith.

Brandon Stokley (“Stokley and Zach”):

It’s time to make a move on the defensive side of the ball for the Denver Broncos. It just hasn’t been good enough.

I thought after last week that they were heading in the right direction, but apparently not.

They need a new voice.
