Pritchard calls Joseph’s performance best he’s seen from Broncos HC

For 48 minutes on Monday, the Denver Broncos defense shut down the high-flying Kansas City Chiefs offense to the tune of 227 yards of total offense.
Through just more than three quarters, Denver limited second-year sensation Patrick Mahomes to 151 yards on 15-of-29 passing.
While the defense stifled the Chiefs offense, the Broncos offense had Denver up 10 points midway through the fourth quarter on one of the best teams in football.
And because of all that, “Pritchard and Cecil” co-host Mike Pritchard said it’s the best coaching performance he’d seen out of Vance Joseph during his two years with the Broncos.
“That coaching performance and that game plan on both sides of the ball was good enough to beat the best team in football,” Pritchard said. “They held that team well below their scoring average. They had the best quarterback flustered in the first half. Offensively, they had a 10 point lead going into the fourth quarter.”
Pritchard brushed aside critics of Joseph, saying those trying to discredit his coaching ability really just don’t want him as the Broncos head coach.
“Why don’t you just say that? Why don’t you just say that as opposed to discrediting this guy and his coaching ability?” Pritchard said.
And despite letting the game slip away late, giving up 14 unanswered points to the Chiefs to lose 27-23, Pritchard said Joseph still had his team in position to win.
“I think that was the best performance from the Vance Joseph coached team since he started here in the Denver Broncos. Better than Dallas last year,” Pritchard said. “I think that game plan was awesome. I think how he managed the game, how they called the game was awesome.”
