Reports: Denver Broncos to release 1,000-yard rusher CJ Anderson

Apr 16, 2018, 9:05 AM | Updated: 9:10 am

Less than an offseason removed from his first career 1,000-yard season, CJ Anderson appears to be heading out of Denver.

First reported by NFL Network reporter Mike Garafolo, the Broncos are set to release the sixth-year NFL running back.

Anderson, who signed a four-year deal, $18 million deal with the Broncos ahead of the 2016 season, was due to make $4.5 million in base salary both in 2018 and 2019.

In parting with Anderson, Denver will not only save his annual salary but will also have no dead cap, per Spotrac.com.
