Report: Peyton Manning being pursued by ESPN, Fox for TV analyst gig

Feb 16, 2018, 11:43 AM

The next step for Peyton Manning and his career in football appears to possibly include a stop in the television booth.

According to a New York Post report, both ESPN and Fox have Manning in their sights to get the former Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos quarterback behind a microphone.

However, according to the report, Manning had rebuffed offers about becoming a broadcaster on multiple occasions since retiring after the 2015 season with the goal of entering football again at the executive or ownership levels.

The news comes just more than a month after former Monday Night Football color analyst Jon Gruden left ESPN to take over the Oakland Raiders head coaching job. The color analyst job alongside Sean McDonough, or a possible replacement, could be a landing spot for Manning.

Also, late last month Fox locked up a five-year deal to broadcast Thursday Night Football, which is another possibility for Manning, should he choose enter the realm of broadcasting.
