Mike Pritchard’s Big 3 Broncos breakdown – Week 2 vs. Cowboys

1. McCoy putting Broncos in position to succeed

Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy continues to confuse defenses with creative formations and personnel groupings.

The Broncos are now dictating to defenses and thus producing an explosive style on offense.

After the game, wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders said, “Kudos to Mike McCoy and the entire offensive coaching staff. Those guys are up in the office late at night and they’re making the right calls and putting us in great positions.”

2. Denver defense stout against the run

There should be no more questions about the Broncos defense’s ability to stop the run.

Can Denver stop the run? Yes.

“We just wanted to stop the run. That’s what they do the best, and they have the best offensive line in the National Football League,” linebacker Von Miller said after the game.

“Stopping the run was our priority, and I don’t think Dak (Prescott) throwing the ball fifty times wasn’t in the game plan. … Once you cut off a priority like that you make them change the game plan, the rest is history.”

They’re physical, disciplined, and, best of all, have a willingness to dominate.

The Broncos defense could be the best in the league.

3. Home sweet home

Denver has re-established its home field advantage.

Yes, being 2-0 is great, but dominating both opponents in all phases of the game at Sports Authority Field at Mile High is awesome.
