Report: Broncos WR Jerry Jeudy won’t be suspended for contacting a ref

Jerry Jeudy got away with one.

The Broncos wide receiver will not be suspended for contacting an official during Sunday’s game against the Chiefs, according to NFL Network. He will, however, face a couple of fines.

The NFL won’t suspend #Broncos WR Jerry Jeudy for his outburst in Sunday’s loss to the #Chiefs, but he’s facing fines for multiple violations, including removing his helmet on the field and making contact with an official, per sources.

Jeudy broke one of the biggest rules in sports during the Kansas City game, which is touching an official. The fact he wasn’t flagged on the play or ejected was surprising, as video showed an irate Jeudy upset he didn’t get a flag. It didn’t help the Broncos were getting blasted at the time, trailing the Chiefs by multiple touchdowns.

Jeudy stayed in the game and went off, playing the best outing of his NFL career. The former first-round pick out of Alabama caught three touchdown passes, as the Broncos stormed back before ultimately losing, 34-28.

It’s the kind of game fans and the Denver front office have been waiting to see, as Jeudy flashed the potential that made him worthy of the No. 15 selection overall in the 2020 draft.

Now, he won’t miss Sunday’s game against the Cardinals, avoiding a suspension for something that can’t happen. Head coach Nathaniel Hackett called it “unacceptable” during his press conference on Monday.

The Broncos and Jeudy will look to build on their best offensive performance of the year against Arizona. Although who’s throwing Jeudy the football remains unclear, with Russell Wilson in concussion protocol.
