Broncos QB Bo Nix excited to improve after big win, says last two weeks ‘stunk’

Denver Broncos QB Bo Nix was really solid against the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday night.

He threw for 326 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for another one.

The Broncos crushed the Bengals 28-3 to improve to 2-2 on the season. It was desperately needed after back-to-back heartbreaking losses the previous two weeks.

After the blowout, Nix was asked about what he learned from those defeats at the hands of the Colts and Chargers and how Denver brought its best effort of the year thus far.

“There’s always going to be noise. I’m sure, after this win, people are going to have a lot they want to see us fix or whatever,” Nix said. “There’s always ways to improve. It’s just a little bit better of a feeling once you win the game, watching it again and fixing those mistakes.”

The Broncos did commit seven penalties for 72 yards, plus Bo Nix threw an interception in the end zone on fourth down. Denver could’ve won by even more, but it’s hard to complain after walk-off field goal losses each of the last two Sundays.

“The last few weeks have stunk because you lose the game and you know there’s so much that you missed or so many opportunities that you had,” Nix said.

Denver used that motivation to play a good (but not perfect) game against Cincy. For Bo Nix, the film study is always more fun being on this end of the result.

“It’s a lot better on the winning side, but we know it’s the same type of mentality and mindset to go out there and get better,” Nix said.

The defense was excellent, J.K. Dobbins broke 100 yards and Bo Nix looked like himself. That’s the recipe for a winning formula, one the Broncos will try to replicate in the coming weeks.

For now, a 25-point victory is worth celebrating, then it’s quickly on to the defending champion Eagles in just six short days.
