The Denver Broncos have moved up the AFC standings quickly.

That’s what winning four games in a row and six out of the last seven will do.

As things currently stand, the Broncos are 6-2, lead the AFC West and are the No. 2 seed in the conference. Only the 6-1 Bills are ahead of Denver — with the two teams meeting on Christmas Day at Empower Field at Mile High.

And the Broncos hold the tiebreaker over the 6-2 Steelers thanks to a better record in conference games. Here’s how the NFL playoff picture looks on Nov. 3

A lot can change between now and the end of the season, but at the moment the No. 2 seeded Broncos would host the No. 7 Patriots in the wild-card round. That’d be a rematch of last year’s AFC Championship Game — although hopefully this time with a healthy Bo Nix.

After their stunning collapse in Denver, the Chiefs move all the way down to the No. 5 seed. Them traveling to Jacksonville to face the Jaguars in the first-round would be a juicy matchup. The Bengals would head to Pittsburgh and the Bills would earn the No. 1 seed and bye.

Teams like the Browns, Raiders, Ravens and Texans are all on the outside looking in. It’s hard to find many believers outside of Cleveland and Las Vegas in those two, plus Baltimore is dealing with devastating QB injuries and Houston’s hole might be too deep to climb out of.

Long story short, there’s a decent chance the seven teams in the AFC playoffs are the seven squads on the graphic above. Of course, the seeding will almost assuredly shuffle around.

Next up for the Broncos is a game in Carolina before a well-earned bye week. If they can top the Panthers and get to 7-2, snagging the No. 1 seed for a second year in a row will be in their own hands.
