Broncos-Cardinals inactives: Surtain will miss third-straight game

GLENDALE, Ariz.– For the Broncos, it will be at least one more game without 2024 Defensive Player of the Year Pat Surtain II on the field.

The Broncos opted to deactivate the sixth-year cornerback for a third-consecutive game in the wake of the ankle injury he suffered against the San Francisco 49ers on Oct. 4

Surtain practiced all three days this week, but saw limited participation and was listed as questionable.

This ensures that he will miss three-consecutive games for a second-straight season. He sat out the contests against the Houston Texans, Las Vegas Raiders and Kansas City Chiefs in November 2025 due to injury, returning after the Broncos’ Week 12 bye that year.

The other player listed as questionable on the Friday injury report, running back Jonah Coleman, is active. That comes as no surprise given that the team placed Tyler Badie on injured reserve Saturday due to the thumb injury he sustained Oct. 15 against Seattle.

Coleman officially rejoined the 53-player roster Saturday.

The Broncos’ inactive list is as follows:
