Denver Broncos linebacker Alex Singleton won AFC Defensive Player of the Week earlier this season.
That was just the appetizer.
Singleton was named the AFC Defensive Player of the Month for October, the NFL announced on Thursday.

It’s a big honor for Alex Singleton as he becomes the first Broncos defender since cornerback Pat Surtain II in November of 2024 and the first linebacker since Von Miller in September of 2021 to be named AFC Defensive Player of the Month.
That’s elite company to keep.
Singleton is also just the fifth linebacker in team history to be named Defensive Player of the Month, joining Miller, DeMarcus Ware, Simon Fletcher and Karl Mecklenburg. He is also the first Bronco to earn any monthly accolade since kicker Wil Lutz in 2025.
In October, Singleton led the NFL in tackles with 68 and also added two sacks and five tackles for loss. He had a monster sack of Patrick Mahomes this past Sunday, moving the Chiefs back and setting up a missed field goal by Harrison Butker.
Those points were precious in an epic 28-24 comeback win for the Broncos that moved them to first place in the AFC West.
Alex Singleton beat testicular cancer last season and is now playing the best football of his career.
Winning both Defensive Player of the Week and Defensive Player of the Month in the same year is huge and well deserved recognition.
