Bo Nix on 15 game-winning drives: ‘I’d much rather be clutch than the other way around’
"We've got a lot of guys with a clutch gene, we've got a lot of guys when the game's on the line we just find ways to go score," Bo Nix said

Denver Broncos QB Bo Nix has 15-game winning drives in his NFL career thus far.
Through three years in the league that’s the most ever for a quarterback.
And he’s still got nine regular season games to go in 2026 to add to that number.
After practice on Wednesday, Nix met with the media and the stat was brought up. He was asked if this is something he’s always had, the clutch factor, or if it’s a new thing.
“I’ve always felt like I’ve wanted to be a clutch player. I think it’s an important quality as a player. When everybody is looking at you, when the pressure’s on, I think that’s when a player is called to play his best. When everybody knows this is the opportunity and is looking at the quarterback to see how they respond,” Bo Nix said.
He and the Broncos responded in a big way against the Chiefs last Sunday, erasing a 24-13 fourth quarter deficit and pulling out an improbable 28-24 victory. It launched Denver up the AFC standings and atop the AFC West.
But Nix also was quick to give the credit to the guys around him — not just himself.
“I don’t think you do it individually, I think if you look at our team in the last three years, we have had 15 game-winning drives. And I just think we’ve got a lot of guys with a clutch gene, we’ve got a lot of guys when the game’s on the line we just find ways to go score,” Bo Nix said.
The 6-2 Broncos have a plethora of comeback wins this year, just like they had in Nix’s first two seasons. At the end of the day it’s something that he’s proud of.
“It’s a great stat, I’d much rather be known as the guy that wins games in the close ones than the guy that always looks great early and can win big, but doesn’t know how to finish, close out the game. I’d much rather be clutch than the other way around,” Bo Nix said.
Broncos Country feels the same way, even if these rallies come with a tremendous amount of stress seemingly every week.
Maybe on Sunday against the Panthers, Bo Nix and the team can build an early lead and cruise to a win. Or maybe it’ll be another dramatic fourth quarter that has every fan on the edge of their seat.
