Future CU QB Shedeur Sanders balls out in final game at Jackson State

Dec 17, 2022, 1:50 PM

CU Buffs fans are in for a treat.

Their future QB, Shedeur Sanders, made a ton highlight-reel plays in his final game for Jackson State on Saturday afternoon. Shedeur and his father, Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders, are both headed to Boulder next year to lead the Buffs. Prime has already announced that Shedeur will be CU’s starting QB in 2023.

The 12-0 Jackson State Tigers lost to North Carolina Central at the Cricket Celebration Bowl, 41-34 in overtime. And while the Sanders duo was handed their first defeat of the year, Shedeur had four passing touchdowns and another on the ground. He threw a TD on fourth-and-goal during the final play of regulation to force overtime. Shedeur will bring an athleticism and play-making ability the Buffs haven’t had in years at the QB position. Take a look…

Wow! All five of those are awesome, but how about the third and fifth ones?! The ability to escape the tackle, plus letting the defender have it once he’s in the end zone, was awesome. The TD as time was expiring proves Shedeur is simply clutch.

Those are special traits — and something CU fans can’t wait to see in Boulder this fall. Sanders finished the day 30-40 through the air for 353 yards and four TDs. He added the aforementioned rushing touchdown.

Who else will be joining Shedeur and Coach Prime in Colorado? We’ve told you about a couple of big names, but with signing day this Wednesday, we should have an even clearer picture soon.

Stay tuned.
