Watch: Deion Sanders announces his son as CU Buffs new quarterback

The Colorado Buffaloes have their new coach and they now have a quarterback too.
Deion Sanders is the new leader of the CU Buffs and his son will be the signal caller. Coach Prime made the announcement during his introductory press conference. His son, Shedeur Sanders, a sophomore at Jackson State where his father was the coach, can officially enter the transfer portal tomorrow.
This season with the Tigers he’s thrown for 3,383 yards, 36 touchdowns and six interceptions while rushing for 157 yards and five touchdowns. He had a perfect passer rating of 158.5 and completed 70% of his passes.
Deion Sanders introduces his son Shedeur in his opening statement:
“That’s your quarterback.”
“He’s gonna have to earn it though. The safety (Shilo) made me mad so I didn’t bring him.” #GoBuffs pic.twitter.com/aBhpNQXuDy

Shedeur Sanders is the highest-rated quarterback prospect to come to Boulder in two decades. A big change from the last time a coach’s son was quarterback—Dan and Cody Hawkins. Granted Sanders was playing on the FCS-level, but Colorado hasn’t had a quarterback throw for 3,000 or more yards since Sefo Liufau in 2014.
The six-foot-two, 215-pound quarterback was the first HBCU player to have his official replica jersey sold. Sanders may wait a few weeks to officially join Colorado with Jackson State headed to the Celebration Bowl later this month.
Coach Prime said his son will have to earn the job but there is currently not much competition.
