Adam Schefter: Interest in Chubb includes one offer of first-round pick

Bradley Chubb isn’t as accomplished as Von Miller.

But if what Adam Schefter reported early Sunday morning is true, the Broncos could be poised to receive more for Chubb than they did for the Super Bowl 50 MVP last year.

Schefter wrote on ESPN.com that the Broncos have received interest from “multiple teams” in the No. 5 overall pick from 2018. One team is “willing to trade its first-round draft pick, along with other compensation” for Chubb.

The Broncos are also the “most likely” team to make a trade before the deadline, Schefter writes.

Denver received second- and third-round picks from the Los Angeles Rams for Miller last year. The Broncos used the second-round pick on Nik Bonitto. The third-rounder went to the Indianapolis Colts as part of a deal for a third-pick next year and a fifth-rounder that Denver used to select offensive lineman Luke Wattenberg.

The Broncos are expected to work on an extension for Chubb if they hold on to him. However, Chubb’s presence beyond Tuesday’s trade deadline could be predicated on whether the Broncos win or lose against the Jaguars in London Sunday.

Schefter also reported that the Broncos “do not plan” to deal either of their third-year wide receivers, Jerry Jeudy and KJ Hamler. Denver would only trade either of them for a “strong” offer, Schefter reports.

According to Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports, the New York Giants have interest in Jeudy. Giants coach Brian Daboll was Alabama’s offensive coordinator in 2017, while Jeudy played for the Crimson Tide.

Still, if a team offers the Broncos a deal that includes a first-round pick for Chubb, they might not need to make any other deals. Trading their leading sacker from so far this season might be enough to give general manager George Paton the draft capital he wants for next year.
