What was Russell Wilson really thinking during his return to Seattle to face the Seahawks?
We got a cool and unique glimpse on Thursday morning, when the Broncos released a five-minute video of Wilson mic’d up against his former team.
From Wilson’s pregame interaction with head coach Nathaniel Hackett, to his touchdown throw to Jerry Jeudy, the footage is pretty insightful. It even shows (briefly) his reaction after Brandon McManus missed a potential game-winning 64-yard field goal. Unfortunately, there’s no insight about what Wilson thought of the decision to not go for it on fourth-and five.
Wilson also uses some choice language at times, but only after positive plays. It’s totally fine (he’s fired up), but with his image it’s a little surprising the Broncos would show it.
Check it out for yourself:
That’s our QB. 👏

The interaction with Wilson and left tackle Garett Bolles at the end is particularly cool. There’s already a strong relationship between Wilson and his most important offensive lineman. Both guys know they’ll have to be just a little bit better, although the loss certainly wasn’t on either of them.
Kudos to the Broncos for giving us this behind the scenes look. Now let’s hope we get it again next week, although this time after a win against the Houston Texans.
