Watch: An amazing defensive play keeps the Avs within striking distance

Avalanche goalie Darcy Kuemper has struggled the last two games against the Blues, but tonight he got some big help in Game 6.

With the Avs trailing 2-1 late in the second period, Kuemper slid way too far out of his net. It looked like St. Louis had an easy goal, but luckily Colorado defenseman Josh Manson was there to bail Kuemper out with an amazing save.

Officially, defenseman can’t record saves, so it counts as a blocked shot and the Blue don’t get credit for a shot on goal. Regardless, as the third period looms, the Avs are still in it thanks to an incredible play from Manson.
