Ahead of the Denver Broncos weekend celebrating the NFL’s 100th season, the city of Denver and mayor Michael Hancock will honor the team’s late owner Pat Bowlen on Wednesday, proclaiming Oct. 9, 2019, as “Pat Bowlen Day.”
Hancock will make the proclamation at 10:00 a.m. on the front steps of the City and County Building — 1437 Bannock Street in Denver — wherein he’ll present the Mayor’s Gold Challenge Coin in Bowlen’s honor, raise a Broncos flag over the building and unveil the temporary street sign “Pat Bowlen Way” on Bannock Street.
The mayor also encourages all in Denver to wear orange and attend the proclamation, which will be attended by Broncos alumni, cheerleaders, the Stampede Drum Line and Miles the Mascot.
