In the first hour, Zach and Tom break down the chaotic first day of NBA free agency. Did the Nuggets make the right move signing Jamal Murray to a 5 year, $170M extension? Should they have been more aggressive trying to bring in free agents given how deep this year’s talent pool is? Zach explains why Nikola Jokic’s contract is one of the biggest steals in the entire NBA right now. Patrick Saunders, our Fan Rockies Insider, joined the program to recap the Rockies’ series with the Dodgers over the weekend and discuss ways the team could bolster their pitching rotation heading into the back half of the season.
In the second hour, Zach and Tom continue the countdown to Training Camp 2019 by questioning whether or not Courtland Sutton will “make the jump” in his second year. Zach worries that the Sutton will not be able to live up to the narrative the media and the fans have created for him. The guys run though the latest entries to James Merilatt’s “Top 60 Since ‘60” list. After a crazy first day of NBA free agency, are the Nuggets in danger of falling behind in the Western Conference?
In the third hour, Zach and Tom react to breaking news regarding the Colorado Avalanche. The guys tip their cap to the Colorado Rockies’ performance over the weekend and hand out their high fives for the day.
