Kirk Cousins or Case Keenum: Who would you rather have on at QB?

Looking back on the offseason debate that raged through Broncos Country last summer, it appears the jury may still be out, at least between Brandon Stokley and Zach Bye, on who’d you rather have a quarterback: Kirk Cousins or Case Keenum.
Stokley said on Thursday that, given his much more flexible and cost-effective contract, that he would rather have Keenum under center for the Denver Broncos than Cousins.
“Look, I think we’re in a better situation than having all that money tied into an average quarterback,” the “Stokley and Zach” co-host said. “I mean, Kirk Cousins is not a top-five quarterback. That’s very evident, very obvious.”
Cousins, however, is better than Keenum, Stokley said, but he’s not the difference in the two quarterbacks’ salary better.
According to Spotrac.com, Kirk Cousins will make an average of $28 million in 2018 compared to Keenum, who will make $18 million.
Statistically, Cousins holds an edge over Keenum in passing yards, passing touchdowns, completion percentage, passer rating, and more.
“At least here, with the number that Keenum has, you have the opportunity to go out there and spend money. I mean, he’s not making a lot of money. And you’re flexible after this year,” Stokley said.
Bye, however, said he would still “absolutely” take Kirk Cousins in Denver because the “difference between the two should be measured in money.”
“I know that sounds a little bit kooky, but here’s why: It would give us a definitive plan over the next couple of years. Something to build on,” Bye said. “I don’t think you can build with Case Keenum. I don’t think he is a cornerstone of your offense from what I’ve learned.”
