After Chad Kelly’s release, should the Broncos bring back Paxton Lynch?

Following an arrest early Tuesday morning, Chad Kelly’s future with the Denver Broncos appears murky at best.
Kelly, the team’s backup quarterback, was arrested on a charge of first-degree criminal trespass, which could carry legal punishment as well as punishment from the NFL.
With that in mind, should the Broncos turn to a familiar figure under center, Paxton Lynch, as a viable backup to Case Keenum?
On Tuesday, 104.3 The Fan’s Orlando Franklin, filling in on “Stokley and Zach,” said if Denver moves on from Kelly they’d have “no choice” but to reach out to Lynch.
“Maybe they won’t decide to move on from Chad Kelly. But if they do decide that, hey, we’re done, we’ve got to go in a different direction, you’ve got to think and believe that you’re going to see Paxton Lynch back in a Broncos jersey at that point,” Franklin said.
Franklin said that “absolutely” the backup quarterback position matters because Keenum is just “one hit away” from coming out of the game. And bringing in Lynch, who knows this Broncos offense, solidifies that backup role.
“Does he know this offense better than Kevin Hogan? Absolutely,” Franklin said of Lynch. “That puts you a little bit ahead of being able to win a football game.”
