The Stanley Cup is so close the Colorado Avalanche can taste it.

The Avs lead the Tampa Bay Lightning 3-1 in the Final and Game 5 is tonight at Ball Arena in what should be one of the greatest sporting event atmospheres the state has ever seen. Colorado could also be the healthiest it’s been in quite some time.

Burakovsky was the hero in Game 1, scoring an OT winner that gave the Avalanche a 4-3 win. He also scored a goal in the 7-0 beatdown in Game 2, before taking a puck off his hand and being forced to leave the game early. He never traveled to Florida with the team, but instead stayed back in Denver to receive treatment and skate.

With Nazem Kadri also returning and Game 4, and playing hero, Colorado now has everyone back except Samuel Girard who broke his sternum in Round 2 against the Blues.

Buckle up, Denver. Tonight could be the night you’ve been waiting for since 2001. And the Avs are looking mighty healthy as they pursue the team’s third Stanley Cup in franchise history.
