Draft analysts had one of the Broncos’ picks as a steal heading into the draft

The Denver Broncos leaned into developmental prospects on day three of the 2025 NFL Draft, but some draft analysts thought their fourth round pick was one of the best steals of the draft

The 2025 NFL Draft has come to a close with the Denver Broncos selecting seven new players to don the orange and blue for the 2025 season. The Broncos took a chance on some more developmental prospects rather than guys who proved themself on the gridiron in college, as seen with their fourth-round selection, Que Robinson.

Robinson, an edge rusher from Alabama, only had seven sacks in his three seasons at Alabama, and appeared in 26 games. Defensively, he was on the field for the Crimson Tide for just 370 snaps in that timespan. For reference, Abdul Carter, the first edge rusher off the board in this year’s draft, played 1,836 defensive snaps in his three years of college football.

However, Robinson was seen as a high-upside, late-round pick by some draft analysts, as his 6-foot-5, 241-pound frame instantly give him an advantage coming off the edge.

Heading into the draft, Steve Palazzolo and Sam Monson on “Check the mic with Steve and Sam” thought highly of Robinson and what he could do, as they both had him as their sleeper pick going in.

“340-something snaps, but he is twitched up, explosive, originally recruited as a safety? It’s visible from the way he moves around, that guy’s insane,” Palazzolo said. “That tape looks as dynamic and athletic and explosive as any edge rusher in this class. He’s bendy, he’s got that ability to turn the corner. I think you get day one juice as a situational rusher … That inside swoop that Von Miller always had … If we got to day three and that guy’s available, I would be hammering the table to bring him in.”

Getting compared to Von Miller, one of the greatest players in Broncos history, is no small feat. Like Palazzolo and Monson said, while the tape is limited, it speaks for itself, and the Broncos getting him on day three was a great value pick.

When the draft came to a close, the two discussed their favorite pick in the fourth round. Palazzolo reiterated the points that he made heading into the draft, and Monson sure to assure Broncos Country that the draft was not a swing-and-a-miss for George Paton and Sean Payton.

“I think Que Robinson in the fourth is really good value,” Palazzolo said.

“A lot of Broncos fans didn’t love the draft,” Monson said. “And I liked Jahdae Barron in the first and we both loved Que. Fourth a fourth rounder? I love that as a developmental edge prospect.”

Robinson will be stepping foot into a crowded pass-rush room in Denver. While he will most likely be on special teams to start, like he was with the Crimson Tide, he will have a chance to compete and rise up the depth chart throughout the season if the tools he currently have continue to develop.
