DENVER — Broncos cornerback Riley moss appeared to have come up with the football two plays into Friday night’s preseason game against the Green Bay Packers. But he also came up with a rib injury, forcing him from the action.

The fourth-year cornerback went back to the locker room after being evaluated in the blue medical tent.

Jahdae Barron, the Broncos’ 2025 first-round pick, replaced Moss in the lineup for the rest of the possession, which ended in an 11-yard Jordan Love touchdown pass to MarShawn Lloyd.

Moss emerged with the football after what was initially ruled a forced fumble by Pat Surtain II, who jarred the ball loose from Green Bay wide receiver Christian Watson. But an automatic instant-replay review — customary on takeaways — ruled that Watson was down by contact before the ball popped loose.

In Moss’ three previous seasons, he’s dealt with a pair of injuries but has missed just six of a possible 54 games, including postseason. Last year, he played all 17 regular-season games and both playoff contests.
