With their first pick of day three, the Broncos added an edge rusher

Despite having two players on their roster who posted 10-plus sacks in 2024, the Broncos bolstered their league-best pass rush in the fourth round

The Broncos started their NFL Draft weekend by going with defense in the first round, taking cornerback Jahdae Barron at No. 20. Denver went on that side of the ball to start their work on day three, as well, picking edge rusher Que Robinson out of Alabama at No. 134.

Que was a special teams ace for Alabama early in his career, and developed into a versatile EDGE/LB pass rusher who can work on all three downs.

Robinson will add depth to a pass rush that led the NFL in sacks in 2024. He’ll join a group of edge rushers that is led by Nik Bonitto, who had 13.5 sacks last season, and Jonathon Cooper, who got to the quarterback 10.5 times.

Last season with the Crimson Tide, Robinson had 23 tackles and four sacks in nine games. His year ended early due to an elbow injury.

“Quandarrius Robinson weighed in at 236 pounds but plays much stronger than that. Flashes speed to power; can win with bull rush that will force a reanchor, can win with speed around the edge and has an inside counter that will give OTs problems. Against the run he plays with strong hands and can win early in the rep.” CBS Sports said about the prospect.

Through five picks, the Broncos have added a cornerback, running back, wide receiver, defensive lineman and edge rusher. They’re checking a lot of boxes, selecting players and both positions of need and spots where you can never have enough depth.
