Pat Surtain II and Jaylen Waddle all smiles as they’re now Broncos teammates

Former University of Alabama teammates Pat Surtain II and Jaylen Waddle are together once again.

This time with the Denver Broncos.

The Broncos pulled off a massive trade on Tuesday morning, landing Waddle from the Miami Dolphins in exchange for a first-round and third-round pick in this year’s NFL Draft. The two franchises also exchanged fourth-round selections.

And while Waddle is an exciting addition for Broncos QB Bo Nix, it’s equally as exciting for Surtain. The two played together at Alabama from 2018-2020 before both going in the top-10 of the 2021 NFL Draft. Waddle went sixth to Miami and Surtain at No. 9 to Denver.

The two had a FaceTime call on Tuesday with Waddle posting a photo of it on Instagram. You may have to open the tweet below to see Surtain’s face.

This comes on the heels of some trash talk that surfaced over the weekend, with Waddle saying he could beat the f*** out of Pat Surtain II in a boxing match.

PS2 responded back on social media, with some not realizing it was more playful banter than anything else. Clearly, the two are very good friends, sharing multiple successful seasons with the Crimson Tide and going within four picks of each other in the draft.

The training camp battles should be epic as Surtain and Waddle are sure to get plenty of reps against each other in practice.

And even better would be the two winning a Super Bowl together in Denver just like they did the 2020 national championship at Alabama.
