Nik Bonitto calls Bo Nix a ‘dog,’ says the Broncos QB can cook

Denver Broncos edge-rusher Nik Bonitto is one of the favorites for NFL Defensive Player of the Year.

And he’s also a big fan of his quarterback Bo Nix, who has led some great comebacks this season to help Denver to a 5-2 record.

Bonitto went on the “Up & Adams Show” with Kay Adams earlier this week and covered a variety of topics, but lit up when Adams asked him about Nix.

"Bo's a dog. He lives for those types of moments… When it's time to let Bo cook, he's been doing his thing."

“Bo’s a dog. When you look at it, man, he lives for those types of moments, man. He’s came (up) big for us two times this year already in the clutch like that,” Nik Bonitto said.

The Broncos rallied to stun both the Eagles and the Giants over the last three weeks. Nix had excellent fourth quarters in both games, particularly this past Sunday, when he made history with two rushing touchdowns and two passing TDs in one quarter. Denver beat New York 33-32 after getting shutout through the first 45 minutes.

“When it’s time to let Bo cook, he’s been doing his thing. I’m proud of him, I know the team is and I know this is only the beginning for him,” Nik Bonitto said. “I know he’s going to continue to get so much better as his career gets along. So, I’m proud of him man, he’s for sure a dog.”

That’s twice that Bonitto called Nix a “dog,” certainly a compliment for a player who’s never out of it, despite what the scoreboard might say.

It’c clear the Broncos locker room has faith in Nix, and this is high praise coming from one of the two or three best players on the team in Nik Bonitto.

Denver will look to keep the momentum rolling this weekend against the Cowboys, as the Broncos are winners of four in a row and sitting atop the AFC West.
