The Denver Broncos have released their unofficial depth chart ahead of Week 1 against the Kansas City Chiefs.

And while there are no major surprises, a few things are worth noting.

First, a look at where the players on the Broncos 53-man roster stand.

Perhaps the top thing that jumps out is Jonah Coleman now being listed as the No. 3 running back and ahead of veteran Tyler Badie.

Head coach Sean Payton always puts his rookies last during training camp and the preseason, but Coleman has shown enough to leap Badie.

We’ll see if that means any significant carries for Coleman in the season opener at Kansas City, or if Payton and offensive coordinator Davis Webb rely almost exclusively on J.K. Dobbins and RJ Harvey in the backfield.

Elsewhere, Jonah Elliss is listed as the starter opposite of Nik Bonitto at outside linebacker with Jonathon Cooper on the commissioner’s exempt list.

At wide receiver, Marvin Mims Jr. is ahead Troy Franklin for a starting spot — joining obvious candidates Courtland Sutton and Jaylen Waddle as Bo Nix’s primary targets.

Malcolm Roach, as predicted, occupies the starting spot on the defensive line vacated by John Franklin-Myers after he signed with Tennessee in the spring.

Again, this is unofficial, but a glimpse into Payton’s thinking before the Broncos begin a potential Super Bowl journey.

Monday Night Football against the Chiefs can’t get here fast enough.
