Former Saints fullback Adam Prentice -- who was in Broncos camp in 2021 -- will join the roster as Michael Burton deals with a hamstring injury.

The Broncos’ primary fullback, Michael Burton, missed Saturday’s game due to a hamstring problem. Their relief fullback, tight end Nate Adkins, is out into the regular season due to an ankle injury.
And while the fullback isn’t a huge part of the Broncos’ offense, it is a component. Burton played 175 snaps — 16 percent — last year and 189 snaps — 18 percent — in 2023. The Broncos need a fullback for practice alone, if nothing else.
Enter Adam Prentice. The former New Orleans Saints fullback will sign with the Broncos on Sunday. KPRC-Ch. 2 in Houston was first to report the move. KUSA-Ch. 9 also reported the deal.
The Broncos also tried out two other fullbacks, per the NFL’s transaction wire: Khari Blasingame and Troy Hairston.
BRONCOS HAD ADAM PRENTICE IN 2021
Prentice played 48 games for the Saints over the last four seasons, including seven for Sean Payton in 2021. He joined New Orleans shortly after Denver waived him as a roster casualty at the 53-player roster deadline that year.
Prentice vacillated between the primary roster and practice squad during his first three seasons with the Saints. They waived him three times over the course of the 2021-23 seasons. He finally stuck on the roster full-time last year and played all 17 games.
Denver will need to make a corresponding move to make room for Prentice.
