Bo Nix says running the football early ‘immerses me in the game’
"It's that first run and getting hit and being apart of the game," Bo Nix told Kay Adams on what makes him start to feel apart of the action

Denver Broncos QB Bo Nix has used his legs successfully through two NFL seasons.
He’s run for at least 350 yards in both years and scored a total of nine touchdowns on the ground.
It’s a huge part of Nix’s game — his ability to create off schedule.
But coming off a broken ankle against Buffalo in the playoffs and two offseason surgeries, many have wondered if Nix will look to scramble less.
He told the media “absolutely not” at the start of training camp and is now talking about why running the football is important to his skillset.
Kay Adams from the “Up And Adams” show was in town on Monday and interviewed Nix. The whole thing is worth checking out, but one answer stood out.
Adams asked Bo Nix if he likes a designed run, doing what he wants on the ground and if doing it early in games works.

“I sort of feel like when I run early in the game or get tackled or get going, get some positive yards with my legs, I feel like it does open the field for me. Allow me to see different things and sort of puts me in the game and immerses me in the game a little bit faster,” Bo Nix told Adams.
On one hand, this is a good thing. Nix is making it clear what helps him feel apart of the action.
On the other, some in Broncos Country will be nervous hearing that answer. Nix running exposes the ankle more, and Denver can’t afford to lose him again. The AFC Title Game against the Patriots was not pretty on offense with Nix watching and backup Jarrett Stidham in the mix.
Nix added most players have something that gets them fired up, whether it be a completion, deep ball, tackle or simply running out on the field. The Broncos No. 1 QB emphasized again what he likes.
“For me, it’s that first run and getting hit and being apart of the game. I think that sort of just gets you going,” Nix told Adams.
Some folks will hold their breath every time Bo Nix runs this season.
But not only is he going to do it — he likes doing it.
