Russell Wilson is coming back to the Mile High City.
The erstwhile Broncos quarterback who served as the primary starter for two mostly-frustrating seasons in the wake of the team’s blockbuster trade for him in March 2022 will be back in Denver on Nov. 1 as part of the traveling crew for CBS’ The NFL Today pregame show, which will air live from Denver in advance of that day’s showdown between the Broncos and Kansas City Chiefs.

It’s not Wilson’s first time back in Denver since his departure, of course. He returned to Empower Field at Mile High in the 2024 and 2025 seasons while with the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Giants, respectively. Both times, he watched the action from the sideline as Justin Fields and Jaxson Dart started those contests.
Wilson retired from his playing carer last season following a fruitless final act with the Giants, one which saw him lose the starting job within the season’s first three games as the team prepared to hand the reins to the then-rookie Dart.
With Wilson’s 14-season career concluded, he moved to the studio, immediately joining The NFL Today in the wake of former show analyst Matt Ryan’s departure to helm the Atlanta Falcons’ football operations.
BRONCOS WILL GET JIM NANTZ ON THE CALL FOR THE FIRST TIME THIS SEASON
Denver will also welcome CBS’ No. 1 broadcast crew of Jim Nantz, J.J. Watt and sideline reporter Tracy Wolfson. It will be the first Broncos game this season for the trio, and mark the first time that they have worked together on a Broncos game, as Watt was promoted to the No. 1 crew at CBS in the wake of Tony Romo’s July arrest in Wisconsin on an OWI charge.
The Broncos went 6-1 in games for which Nantz and Wolfson were at the microphone last season, losing only in the AFC Championship Game.
Watt has never called a Denver game.
