The Denver Broncos took the practice field for training camp on Thursday.
And four key guys who were injury question marks over the last few days were spotted.
That’s a sigh of relief that none of the issues affecting Nik Bonitto, Courtland Sutton, Jaylen Waddle and Luke Wattenberg appear to be too serious.
Bonitto limped off at practice on Tuesday, but was back on the side field on Wednesday and seemed to be in good spirits. On Thursday, Bonitto started camp with a helmet and looked to be practicing.
Sutton has received “vet days” the last couple of practices. One this time of year is common, two in a row is not. But Broncos head coach Sean Payton said Sutton would be back on Thursday and that appears to be the case.
Waddle left Wednesday’s practice early and never returned. Payton pointed out muscle tightness, something the Broncos want to be cautious with. He was walking around the practice field on Thursday, but reportedly not participating. Still, if it was anything too worrisome, he wouldn’t have left the training room.
However, some later videos from camp showed Waddle limping toward the rehab field.
And Denver’s starting center Wattenberg was also dinged up earlier in the week. He was spotted, but also looked to not be participating.
That’s four key guys, all who will play a ton this year for the Broncos, and it’s almost universally good news. At this juncture in camp, injuries that keep players out weeks and months are the biggest concern.
Luckily, that doesn’t seem to be the case for Bonitto, Sutton or Wattenberg. Waddle is definitely worth monitoring moving forward.
(Update 10:48 a.m.) –
As practice reached the 45-minute mark, there was some more clarity on these four guys. It looks like the Broncos are taking the cautious approach.
Nik Bonitto, Jaylen Waddle, Luke Wattenberg, Dasan McCullough and Courtland Sutton are all working out on the side field during the individual period.

#Broncos WR Courtland Sutton, Jaylen Waddle both doing work on side field during position drills at camp this AM.
So perhaps not, indeed, a *true* couple rest days for Sutton.
Nik Bonitto also doing ladder work on side field, as are Luke Wattenberg + rookie OLB Dasan McCullough
