Is there such a thing as too hype?

For Ball Arena, the Colorado Avalanche fans may have found that level, shattering glass behind the Los Angeles Kings bench causing a near 20-minute delay after a huge stop by Scott Wedgewood.

The Avs goalie had to stop a penalty shot from Quinton Byfield after Colorado committed an infraction on a breakaway while the home team was on the power play.

Wedgewood made a strong glove stop.

Maybe too crazy, because behind the Kings some fans banging the glass shattered a pane, breaking onto some Kings coaches and players.

The sequence caused about an 18-minute delay early into the second period of Game 2. The ever-so-busy crew at Ball Arena had to clean up the mess, making sure no bits were left on the bench or goto on the ice then they installed a new pane. It’s the crew’s fourth game in four nights with the Avs and Nuggets in the playoffs, and they’ll host a Colorado Mammoth playoff game this weekend, too.
