And while another Hart Trophy might be in his future, his efforts for a monster November were recognized by the league on Tuesday.

This is the seventh time in the great career of Nathan MacKinnon that he’s been the league’s first star of a month. It’s the 11th time he’s been one of the three selected overall. Stars stud Jason Roberston and Blackhawks phenom Connor Bedard also joined MacKinnon for November.

In the month, the Avalanche went 11-0-2, adding to their already historic start to the regular season. MacKinnon had seven multi-point performances in the 13 games, including three games in a row with at least three points.

While many are focused on the Stanley Cup, and rightfully so, Avs fans should be living in the moment. Nathan MacKinnon looks like the best player on the planet — and watching him take the ice every night is a treat.
